Lector Workshop, November 18

As part of our Golden Jubilee, we will be hosting a number of activities through out the year.  Our lector workshop is one of those events.  It will be in the church from 7:30 – 8:45.  Our guest speaker will be Diana Macalintal, Director of Worship of the Diocese of San Jose.

Our Resurrection community has a powerful history of outreach and compassion and we continue today, through God’s Grace, as the eyes and hands of Christ. We reach out to those in need through organizations like St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Charities, missions, ministries to the homebound and the sick, and many other groups who receive our support.  Our new Caregiver’s Circle is beginning its first year of service, to help fill the needs of all who require extra care and love. Through outreach, the youth groups and faith sharing groups all practice Christian stewardship and love that enriches our community.  Our priests reach out and lovingly touch the lives of those in their care through prison, school and hospital ministries, sacraments, and counseling.

We all feel inspiration and renewal coming to us from our dear Pope Francis.  He calls us to live our lives in harmony with those around us, deepen our relationship with God, follow the footsteps of Jesus and reach out  to the poor, the sick and the marginalized in society.  He challenges us to take a new look at our faith, our lives and our ministries as he leads us all into a time of renewed respect, appreciation, love and compassion for all God’s children.

During this Jubilee Year, we celebrate with open hearts and minds to God’s presence in each and every one of us. Whenever we come together or go forth, our sacrifices and prayers build upon the legacy of our founders and all who came before us.  These prayers and our work, together in Christ, are our path of hope into the future.

Pope Francis reminds us…

What have I done for Christ?

What am I doing for Christ?

What should I do for Christ?

Happy 50th Anniversary Church of the Resurrection!
