Raymon Badilla, 1948 – 2012

Ray Badilla, A Man of Faith!

Ramon Badilla, a long-time and very active member of Resurrection Parish, died on the morning of Thursday, August 23rd.  He was 63 years old.

Ray Badilla was an integral member of the Resurrection Parish and School Community. He donated countless hours over the years to numerous projects and ministries at Resurrection.

Ray took pleasure in warmly welcoming people to our church, in their own language if he spoke it! Ray was a man of action, a true servant and ambassador of Christ. If the school or parish expressed a need for help, Ray stood ready to serve. From coordinating the ushers, to donuts and coffee, special receptions, and special Masses, Ray was a man that we always counted on to bring people together and to get the job done. His work was a labor of love and devotion, completed joyfully with a smile.

Ray was committed to a variety of groups and held a number of leadership positions, including President of the Legion of Mary, Council Member of the Filipino-American Association of Resurrection (Fil Am), Second Vice President of the Italian Catholic Federation (ICF), Head of Ushers, Co-Chair of the Lenten Soup Suppers, and Chair of the Resurrection Welcoming / Hospitality Committee. He felt a special connection to Our Blessed Lady and he enjoyed Marian devotions.

We were blessed with the time he shared with us.

Ray’s Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 28th, here at the Church of the Resurrection.  Ray’s Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 29th, followed by a pot-luck luncheon in Farana Center.  The burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Please keep Ray and his family in your prayers.  May he rest in peace.
