Helping Hands Ministry

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each individual is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. (Corinthians 12:4-7)

Our parish worship requires the gifts and contributions of many. Here at Resurrection we have in place an impressive list of ministries and many committed, dedicated ministers. We value service, and in so doing we want to increase the breadth of our outreach to those in need. We have recently started a new ministry called “Helping Hands”. Helping Hands is a multi -faceted, faith based ministry whose goal is to reach out into the parish community to share the love of Christ.

  • The Prayer Group responds to requests from parishioners seeking prayer for themselves or for others.
  • The Grief Support Ministry assists those who have lost a loved one to understand their feelings, create new goals and adjust to their loss.
  • Martha’s Angels ministry helps by preparing meals for individuals who are sick or recuperating from a recent hospitalization, or for families who are caring for a loved one. We envision the group supporting the Funeral Ministry by providing simple salads and desserts for funeral receptions.

Helping Hands is a wonderful way to volunteer your time to our community without having to spend time away from your own home and family. It is also a wonderful opportunity to include children in the support ministries of our parish.

For additional information or to become a member of Helping Hands please contact Geni Sundquist 408-738-4687 or call the rectory office. We are waiting to welcome your gift of time and talent !
