“Whatever Happened to Vatican II?”

Parish Mission at Resurrection

Come join us for our Parish Mission, a time of personal renewal, when we come together as a community to clarify and deepen our faith. In this series of presentations, noted speaker, author, and professor, Father Dave Pettingill will explore who we are as Church today in the half-century following Vatican II. The talks will take place on three Wednesday evenings, 7:00p-8:15p in the church.

October 20 – “The People of God, Principal Celebrants of Every Liturgy” will focus on the document of the Church (Lumen Gentium) and the Liturgy Document (Sacrosanctum Concilium)

October 27 – “God Stories — Official and Unofficial” will focus on the document on Revelation (Dei Verbum)

November 3 -“Catholics Can Make a Difference” will focus on The Church in the Modern World (Gaudium et Spes).

[Fr. David M Pettingill is a priest of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. He has served as a faculty member and principal of Marin Catholic High School; professor of Homiletics, Liturgical Celebration and Scripture and Dean of Students at St. Patrick’s Seminary; pastor of St. Gabriel’s Parish, founding Director of the School of Pastoral Leadership and Director of the Archdiocesan Office of Parish Life.
